My name is Māra, I am the creator of Scarves and Shawls
My scarf story began about ten years ago when I went to check out the latest trends at the Paris fashion fair.
I already liked scarves back then. I often wore them and gave them as gifts to my close ones - my mother, godmother, and friends.
It was the last day of the fashion fair, and I had to go home. I was looking for gifts to bring to my family and wandered the streets of Paris searching for presents. It was raining. My attention was caught by a small shop with a slightly faded sign but bright scarves in the dusty display window.

It was a wholesale scarf sale with a wonderful offer. I immediately saw that I would "fall into" it for several hours, choosing gifts not only for my family but also for my friends, because, as with wholesale, the minimum purchase amount is more than just a few scarves.
After several hours of creative struggles, I finally left the little shop with a rather large bag. When I was packing my suitcase for the trip home, it became clear that my sports shoes and makeup bag would be left at the hotel and would not fly to Latvia. My suitcase was bursting at the seams from the pressure of the scarves.
That’s how my scarf story began – the scarves I didn’t give as gifts, I started selling to acquaintances and acquaintances of acquaintances. At first, my showroom was my living room. Then a small corner in a jeweler’s workshop. Later, an online store. Larger and larger boxes of French scarves began traveling to Latvia.
I really enjoy giving gifts. The selection process itself often takes several months and somewhat resembles detective work – researching, gathering information, listening to the other person's wishes, paying attention to new additions in his or her wardrobe. And most importantly – doing it all in a way that doesn’t raise any suspicion for the birthday person.
I am inspired by the wide range of creative possibilities that a single accessory can offer. The ability to vary it, tie it in many different ways. I am someone who likes to experiment with my clothing, but the daily routine doesn’t really allow me to maintain a very large wardrobe, and there isn’t much time to spend in front of the mirror every morning. That’s why very often I choose bright accessories to go with the usual black and basic wardrobe for everyday wear.
